sope.cc #
sope.cc is a private URL shortening service that I use to share frequently used or really long links.
You may have mainly seen https://sope.cc/home, which redirects to this website.
It is akin to bit.ly, tinyurl, or the now defunct goo.gl service.
sope.cc, prior to July 2021 used the Rebrand.ly URL shortening service.
Now it currently runs on a private YOURLS instance running on my own home server.
Can I have my own account? #
No.
I don’t plan on setting up public registrations for sope.cc, as it
- Requires too much effort
- Requires me to set up yet another isolated authentication system
- Has no real (or lack of) interest from others to use
- Mainly is used by me, personally
If interest grows, I may consider using another domain (or subdomain) for a public YOURLS service, but I don’t see a real need to do this yet.
files.soper.cc #
files.soper.cc, f.sope.cc, and up.soper.xyz are all part of the same free temporary file-sharing service I host under https://up.soper.xyz.
It is entirely free-to-use at the moment, and requires no registrations.
f.sope.cc is a shortlink version of files.soper.cc, where the files are ultimately hosted.
